Bideford and Torridge deserve better representation at County Hall, and Labour Councillors will stand up for our local needs.

Covid has shown up our lack of NHS capacity and problems in Social Care. I will push to reverse Closure of Community Hospitals, and for Public Health provision to be at grass-roots level, to ensure it covers what the local community wants. Nobody wanted Bideford, Holsworthy and Torrington Hospitals closed and we are suffering without them.

I will be the direct voice to tackle our appalling road surfaces and poor public transport; I will champion investment in carbon neutral transport and renewable energy schemes which benefit everybody-not just the well off!

I will prioritise investment in decently paid jobs, together with genuine local housing, and campaign for a proportion of developers’ profits to go towards children’s and young people’s facilities.
