Colin Mills
Sidmouth

I was born and brought up in Sidmouth, and I now live in Sidford. I am an Open University graduate in mathematics and history. I am pleased to be the Labour and Cooperative candidate for Sidmouth division of Devon County Council and to promote Labour’s Vision for Devon, the Labour manifesto for the 2021 elections. My priorities are to:
♦ Stimulate Devon’s economy through investment, improving people’s skills with life-long education and training, and encouraging the creation of sustainable jobs, giving priority to opportunities for young people;
♦ Halt climate change by promoting environmentally sustainable practices at all levels and reducing carbon emission with a net zero target in 2030;
♦ Defend and develop integrated health services and public health solutions in Devon across the board which will also deal with the long-term effects of Covid-19;
♦ Ensure there is a county-wide fast broadband service and access to the, community and internet for all so that everyone can study and learn online or where possible work from home;
♦ Promote joined-up primary’ community and social care at local level’ and give social care the greater funding it deserves;
♦ Support schools, colleges and universities in Devon so that young people reach their full potential
