Terry Edwards
Okehampton Rural
Rural communities have been ignored in regards to Council Services, roads are in a poor state, bus services are poor or missing, and schools’ funding cut. This is a direct result of Conservative austerity.
There has been an increase in anti social behaviour in Okehampton and if elected I will work with the Police and Crime Commissioner to tackle this issue.
Local people need local jobs and I am committed to bringing back in-house Council Services where possible, ensuring local Jobs before private profit. I will speak up robustly for building housing affordable on local wages, and for the infrastructure investment we need for better quality jobs. We have all seen the success of the NHS Vaccination Programme as opposed to the privately run test and trace debacle and we need to build on excellent public services.
The Labour Party supports local business and is opposed to Corporation Tax increases.
